I created these earrings in celebration of my daughter.  I always called her “my little princess” as most parents would call their daughters, but my name for her derived from my story that she was my little bean sprout.  She was my version of “Princess and the Pea” but she was the “Princess and the Bean.” She was my Bean.  I wanted her to grow up not to be a princess, but to be the one that would challenge the princess and challenge all that the world stereotyped what a woman should be.  And eventually, I meshed the two characters and made her my “Princess Bean.”
